... and then there were days when you simply can't win but you still come up on top...
And there are days like tonight when marriage and parenthood is not like a picture perfect family postcard.

Instead it ended up something like this, got 40-week pregnant wife mad on an argument over the best way to kill the "germs" on a tortilla pan over stove or microwave (there really was no argument, she said stove, I suggested microwave, she got mad, it is over), getting my shirt wet while taking a bath for #1 because she does not like water in her eyes, #2 throwing a fit for over an hour because he is too tired and had no idea why he is crying other than he just wanted to, gave #2 a bath to clam him down, #2 continue to cry for another 15mins until he is finally calmed, #1 throws a fit because she has a running nose and couldn't sleep because #2 has been crying for an hour, finished packing #1's lunch, clean sheets and blanket for school tomorrow, finish packing the wife's lunch, finally get to eat dinner at 10pm... #1 cried again...
It is days like this when I want to throw a fit like one of the kids, get in a fight with the wife, yell randomly at a passing car... but I decided to bite down my tongue.. no I did not, I lied... I kicked the trash can as I was taking the trash out... it felt good and I got to laugh at my own silliness.
Then I turn to God to seek for words of comfort... none came...
Then... I thought about my unborn son, how he is a ticking time bomb except no one but God knows when he is going to come. I thought about his name, Levi, chosen among many reasons but especially because of Joshua 18:7 The Levites, however, do not get a portion among you, because the priestly service of the Lord is their inheritance. The wife and I both loved it, we knew this was going to be #3's name immediately.
The bizarre night is almost over, and most nights of marriage and fatherhood is definitely much better than this. I'm glad that I did not decide to take it up against my 40-week pregnant wife to win "the best way to kill the germs on a tortilla - microwave or stove top" debate. I'm glad that because of the tantrums, both the kids got their long awaited baths and are soundly asleep for now. I'm glad that God gave me a chance to serve my wife and kids, for at this time of my life, that's my best way to serve Him.
