End of 2nd week (technically 1.5 week) of school - nerdy teacher talk alert!
The first few weeks of school is all about grinding it out, it's like hitting the gym after not hitting it for years (how would I know that, I've never hit the gym ðŸ˜). Even 13 years into my teaching service, this year is no different. Here's my batting line up this year Mondays & Wednesdays Period 1 World History (24 quiet 9th&10th graders, maybe the zero period music teacher lulled them back to sleep) Period 3 APUSH (6 brave juniors) quick lunch Period 5 World History (24 loud 9th&10th graders, must be the increase blood sugar after lunch) Period 7 Free (brain sizzling time, catch up on work emails, do some grading, do some planning the next day, make some photocopies Tuesdays & Thursdays Period 2 World History (17 9th&10th graders - female and sophomore dominated class) Period 4 Human Geography (6 ragtag group of pioneering students) club time (I in oversee all clubs) extended lunch Period 6 Free (classroom shared with health class, some light prepp...
